More facts are emerging on the desperation of the Nigeria football Federation (NFF), to save the sinking ship of the game in the country, as it has spent N155.77
million to prosecute the friendly games against the duo of Botswana and Chipolopolo of Zambia in Benin and Kaduna respectively.

The federation made the disclosure in a document tagged: 'details of receipts of funds and expenditure for the 2011 budget performance from January to December 2011, submitted to the National Assembly during the recent budget appraisal.

According to the Glass House, while the 'financial requirements for international friendly between Nigeria and Botswana' gulped a staggering N98.22 million, the expenditure on the game against Zambia took N57.55 million, bringing the total expenses for the friendly encounters to N155.77 million.

The document further revealed that the federation spent N15.11 million on the two-legged qualifier encounters between the Super Falcons and the Indomitable Lioness of Cameroon, just as it spent N500,000 to fuel the Marcopolo bus which took the Under-23 team to keep a date with their Ghanaian counterparts in Accra.

It further disclosed that the Austin Eguavoen-led team consumed a whopping N20.48 million during camping in Ghana for the Olympic Games championship held in Morocco.

The federation also spent N31 million as 'part payment for requirement of Under-23 participation in the Olympic qualifier in Morocco and a 'balance payment of N97.95 million for estimate of the Olympic qualifier.
