Ahmed Musa in action
Super Eagles' former safe hands, Peter Rufai, has asked Nigerians not to expect an easy match against Rwanda come Feb. 29. Speaking in Lagos recently, the man that is fondly called Dodo Mayana by his fans said the encounter would define the character of Keshi's Eagles.
He described the Nations Cup qualifier as the first competitive match for Keshi and asked him not to disappoint Nigerians.
He, was, however, quick to predict that the match would end in favour of Eagles.
He also expressed his desire to work alongside Keshi, describing him as the man that the shoe best fit as the Eagle's helms man.
'Just like every other Nigerian, am looking forward for a good match against Rawanda, apart from that I have the full confident that Eagles will tear the Wasps apart with the fury of missing out in the last Nations Cup, of which the injury has not healed among Nigerians. No matter how fortified the Rwanda's may claim to be, Eagles will beat them not minding that they are playing at home.
'The reason Eagles will defeat the Amavubi on that day is because they are tactically and technically superior, coupled with the fact that they have an experienced coach in Keshi.
'Therefore, he has all it takes to take Eagles to the promise land. He has also work under other coaches, with all this wealth of experience, he cannot afford to fail Nigerians.
Keshi is the man I desire to work with because he is someone I know and I have the knowledge of the game. If I don't have the knowledge I wouldn't say I want to work with him. Keshi has all it takes to lead the team to glory, all I need to do is to give him some pieces of advise where necessary.'
