Atilade
Aimed at winning Africa for Christ, the Organization of African Instituted Churches ((OAIC), recently inducted some worthy members into various offices in the South west zone of the church.
The induction ceremony by the International & Regional President of OAIC, His Grace The Most Rev. Dan Okoh, who was well represented, held at C & S Movement Church (Ayo Ni o), Apapa/Oshodi Expressway, Sanya, Lagos.
Officers inducted include: Archbishop Magnus A Atilade (JP) as Zonal Chairman; Archbishop Nath Olorunsola (JP)-1st Vice Chairman; Supt Ap. Pro Akinbami, 2nd Vice Chairman; Supt. Ap. E. B. Fagbile (JP). Zonal Secretary; Ap. Diran Orekunri, Treasurer; Special Ap. B. O. Zojimiwe, Financial Secretary; Primate M. O. Dagiloke, PRO; Rev. C. B. Akande, Ass Secretary; Rev. G. O. Olaniyi, Ass Fin. Sec; Rev Mother T. Shobowale, Welfare Officer 1; Rev E. O. Oladriran, Welfare Officer 11; Primate Olorunleke Abe, Auditor and many others
The event attracted dignitaries such as the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Princess TItilayo Olaoye, who represented Governor Rauf Aregbesola; Special Adviser to Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) of Lagos State on Religious Matters, Dr Akitoye-Braimoh; Auditor, Special Apostle L. S.Akinadewo and Spiritual Head, New Temple Spiritual C & S Church, Primate Michael Aniyikaye.
In his message, OAIC International and Nigeria Regional President, Special Apostle G. O. Fakeye, urged the newly inducted officers to remember their pledges. He charged: Atilade, you are the front liner of OAIC. You need people and the people need you to move the church of God forward. And to the faithful, Fakeye said: 'Always remember to put Atilade and other officers into prayers, adding that the day was the beginning of success for all of them.
In his acceptance speech, Archbishop Atilade said to make the goal of OAIC real, all the six state of OAIC South West Zone should embark on a joint open air crusade for three days. 'We propose to rekindle the torch of Evangelism in obedience to the great commission of Jesus Christ. I pray that we will be sanctified for this mission to attain the goal of winning Africa for Christ. We thank the missionaries for bringing Christ and the gospel to Africa. We Africans and the indigenous African Churches must carry on this work and assignment.'
The cleric used the occasion to call on Nigerians to fast and pray and intercede for the nation in order to neutralize the threats to peace for the progress of the country, adding that the spiritual exercise should take place within 14 days.
He also called on government at all levels to labour for the enhancement of peace by reducing poverty, which is the root of problems in the society.
